Live Blog. Stony Brook v. New Hampshire

Live Blog Stony Brook v. New Hampshire brought to you by Carl Carrie and Gene Morris

10:12
Cox has set his season high in shot attempts-4. Its the end of the half. Stony is down 42-38. Dougher leads the team with 12 points. El-Amin has 7, and Cox has a season high 6 points.
10:10
Goba just got a big rebound and put it in after an El-Amin miss. He's out their for his size, Stony is getting killed on the boards.

10:08
Stony usually holds teams to 42% shooting, UNH is now shooting 57%.
Gene Morris Commentary: These five guys probably haven't played together all year, this could pose a problem. Carter, Dougher, Cox, Goba and Carter are the five.

10:06
Wolfie just did a Michael Jackson routine with the dance team. He's a crowd favorite.

10:04
Dougher just hit a pretty fadeaway. But UNH is about to complete a 3 pt. play. Stony Brook can't trade baskets with teams, they don't have the offensive firepower.

10:01
Dougher takes it strong to the basket, and hits two free throws. Tommy Brenton draws a charge. Gene thinks he could be a future all-defensive team member. Now Dougher draws a charge. This is the kind of defensive intensity that the Seawolves usually play with. Down by five, 4 minutes left. 33-28

9:57
El-Amin with a pretty move spinning to the hoop and drawing the foul. 3 point play.

9:53
El-Amin just tried to get too fancy and gave the ball away. I think Stony has to get back to their kind of game. They've given up a lot of points, 28 in only 12 minutes.

9:49
We have a Danny Carter sighting. He might have a big game. With Stony driving to the basket so often, Carter can wait in the corner and hit threes. He has a sweet stroke.

9:48
Bryan Dougher just hit a three, Stony has a 1 point lead.

9:46
Pikiell is clapping so hard his hands are going to fall off by the second half.

9:44
D. Young just got called for his third foul. He's one of their more athletic players. Brenton, who just came in for Young just had a nice lay-in.
9:42
Dougher just took it to the basket instead of settling for a 3. It's something we haven't seen from him.
9:39
The Stony Brook band is the loudest and most into it band we've seen all day. They should be a big help.

9:36
Chris Martin just checked into the game. This is his first game back after the death of his father. He just took it strong to the basket and scored.

9:34
New Hampshire is playing some tough defense. Marques Cox is playing with aggressiveness we haven't seen all year on the offensive end.

9:32
Before the game, Coach Pikiell showed the players a movie called "Shining Moments," which highlighted some NCAA moments, including Cinderella teams. This team is just 3 wins away from making the tournament. The team is pumped, but still looked loose during warmups.

9:31
The game is underway and Stony Brook is off to a fast start. Marques Cox hit a three to score the first 3 points, and Dallis Joyner went up strong to the basket for a layup and converted on the foul shot.
